Maurice Taylor is a recognized talent in the television, film and music video industry.

Over the last 12 years, the Annapolis, Maryland native has joined forces with Hollywood giants showcasing his talents as an animator, cinematographer and editor.

After graduating from the Art Institute of Philadelphia (BS in multimedia art/animation), Taylor returned to Annapolis and began his career working as an independent freelance artist.

In 2012, Maurice began working for the Tessemae’s corporation (an Annapolis based salad dressing company) as a freelance mural artist. His duties included the layout and design of the company’s on-campus artwork. From there, he was promoted to the role of Creative Director, a position he currently maintains. In this position, Taylor is the driving force in charge of the company’s visual and design strategies. He oversees the photography, editing, social media artwork and commercial ad campaigns.

 

In 2010, Taylor along with two friends created ArtLife Studio. His work caught the attention of actor Idris Elba (Golden Globe nominee and acclaimed actor for his role on HBO’s “The Wire”). Taylor provided his talents for event coverage shoots and produced a series of profile videos for Elba. He has also collaborated with actor Omari Hardwick (“Power” on The Starz Network) and music mogul, 50 cent.

 

In 2017, Taylor’s career reached new heights. He was approached by Roc Nation’s Chaka Pilgrim to produce an animated cartoon for rapper/business tycoon Jay Z, featuring him, his wife, Beyonce’ and daughter, Blue Ivy. The video showcased Blue Ivy’s dream of following in the footsteps of her famous parents. It was a mega success with over 2.1 million views online.

In 2018, he scripted and directed the music video “NeverMind” for 9-year-old music phenom Dylan Gilmer (“Tyler Perry’s Young Dylan” on Nickelodeon) . This project has been viewed more than 15,000 times on Instagram, since it launched on June 5, 2018.
